A McCANDLESS CONVERSATION
During the process of building its implementable comprehensive plan, the Town of McCandless through public surveys, polls and discussions among town stakeholders came up with five “Key Issues” to address: active transportation and connectivity, recreation activities and community center, green space and sustainability, redevelopment, and community identity and public engagement.
Building upon these issues, a plan called “The McCandless Conversation” was created to guide the town in creating a place that residents can be proud of and enjoy. Identifiers throughout the plan enable users to weigh the difficulty of the goals, see estimated costs and schedules, and provide to-do checklists to keep them on track.
The comprehensive plan focuses on action, not words. Its whole point is to provoke and foster progress and change and encourage conversations among the residents, stakeholders, and public officials.
